The Approach

More than volume.

Fillers can do more than add volume. They can help restore balance to your features. Our focus is subtle enhancement that looks like you, dosed conservatively. At Aetheria we work primarily with the Restylane® collection, with the RHA® collection also available, and we match the filler and the dose to your anatomy and goals.

Clinical Summary

Dermal fillers are hyaluronic acid gels injected to rebuild volume and refine contour: lips, midface, jawline, and the folds that deepen as facial fat descends with age. Aetheria carries the Restylane family as its primary line, with RHA products for areas that move expressively, and matches the specific product to the specific area rather than using one gel everywhere. Treatment at the Pittsburgh North Hills studio is performed by Melissa Kolowitz, PA-C, whose surgical background informs a conservative, structure-first approach: support is rebuilt where volume was actually lost, in amounts that read as rested rather than done. Most appointments take under an hour, with mild swelling or bruising possible for a few days. Hyaluronic acid fillers are also reversible with hyaluronidase, an additional safety margin. Product choice, placement, and quantity are decided together at consultation. Individual results vary.

What Are Dermal Fillers?

Hyaluronic acid.

Dermal fillers use hyaluronic acid-based gels to replenish lost volume, soften wrinkles, and enhance facial contours. By attracting moisture and supporting the tissue beneath the skin, they create a refreshed look without surgery. Hyaluronic acid is a substance your body already produces, which is part of why these fillers integrate naturally and why they can be dissolved if ever needed. Subtle lip definition calls for a different product and placement than a more pronounced cheek contour. The right choice depends on the area and your goals, and we determine it together at consultation.

The Collections

Why we lead with Restylane®.

Both collections are hyaluronic acid. The difference is how each gel is engineered, and which areas and movement patterns it suits best.

Restylane® · The line we reach for most often

Restylane® is the line we reach for most often. It is a family of hyaluronic acid fillers, each engineered for a specific job, from soft lip definition to deep structural lift. The right one depends on the area and the result you are after.

What Dermal Fillers Treat

One face, many areas.

Lips

Subtle definition, hydration, and soft volume that keeps natural movement.

Cheeks and Midface

Helps restore fullness lost with age and lifts the midface for a rested look.

Nasolabial Folds

Softens the lines that run from the nose to the corners of the mouth.

Marionette Lines

Eases the lines that run downward from the corners of the mouth.

Chin and Jawline

Adds structure and definition along the lower face and jaw.

Lip Lines

Smooths the fine vertical lines above and around the lips.

"Fillers restore volume and refine contour across the face, with the specific product matched to each area."

Candidacy

Who this is for.

You're probably a great candidate if:

You have noticed flattening in the cheeks, deepening nasolabial or marionette lines, or loss of lip volume. You want a refreshed, natural-looking result built conservatively rather than a dramatic change. You prefer a treatment that is adjustable and, with hyaluronic acid, reversible if needed. You want a provider who will recommend a different treatment when filler is not the right answer.

Let's talk first if:

You're pregnant or breastfeeding (we'll wait). You have an active infection at the treatment site (we'll treat once it settles). If you are unsure which filler fits your goals, the consultation is where Melissa determines whether a Restylane® or RHA® product, a biostimulator like Sculptra, or a combination is the right approach. Individual results vary.

"If this isn't the right tool, we'll say so."

Why Aetheria

Measured, not overfilled.

Always Melissa

Every treatment is performed by Melissa Kolowitz, PA-C. Same provider, same clinical eye every visit. The plan you agree on at consultation is the one Melissa delivers.

Conservative dosing

We add measured volume and build over time rather than overfill on day one.

The right product for the area

We match the Restylane® or RHA® filler to the tissue and goal, not a one-product menu.

Reassurance of reversibility

Hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved if an adjustment is ever needed.

Honest fit assessment

If Sculptra or a neuromodulator is the better answer, Melissa will tell you.

"Overfilled, unnatural results usually come from chasing volume too aggressively in a single visit. A conservative, considered approach is not a marketing line. It is how every filler treatment is dosed at Aetheria."

Your Dermal Filler Visit

From consult to follow-up.

Step 01

Consultation.

Melissa assesses your facial structure, volume, and goals, then recommends which filler and which areas fit. About 30 minutes, with no pressure to treat the same day.

Step 02

Your plan.

Together you decide the product and areas. The plan reflects your anatomy and how subtle or pronounced you want the result, building conservatively where it makes sense.

Step 03

Treatment.

Most filler sessions take about 30 to 45 minutes. A numbing step keeps you comfortable, and many products include lidocaine. Mild swelling or bruising for a few days is normal.

Step 04

Results and follow-up.

Volume is visible right away, then settles over about two weeks as swelling resolves. We review the result at follow-up and refine if needed.

What patients say

In their words.

Melissa did a wonderful job listening to my goals and helping me determine what services were right for me. She could have easily convinced me to do more, but she was honest and only suggested what I truly needed.
Verified Google review
Had a wonderful consultation with the owner, Melissa. She took her time and walked me through all her services and answered my questions without trying to oversell me.

I love that Melissa is the only injector. There's no rotating chair of providers. She remembered exactly what we did last time and adjusted from there.

Common Questions

Straight answers.

What patients ask before booking.

How long do dermal fillers last?

It depends on the product and the area. Lip filler tends to last around six months to a year, while firmer fillers placed in the cheeks or jawline can last a year or more. Movement, metabolism, and how much product is used all play a role. We track your individual longevity and plan maintenance around it so your results stay consistent over time. Individual results vary.

How do you choose between Restylane and RHA?

Both are excellent hyaluronic acid collections, and the choice comes down to the area and the result. We work primarily with Restylane, matching a specific product to lips, cheeks, folds, or jawline. RHA is available when its stretch-and-recoil profile suits a dynamic area. There is rarely a single right answer, and if you have done well with one collection before, we usually stay with it. Melissa recommends the best fit for your anatomy and goals at consultation.

Will dermal fillers look natural?

That is the entire point of conservative dosing. We add measured volume and can build at a follow-up rather than overfilling on the first visit, which is what tends to cause an unnatural look. Choosing the right product for each area matters just as much as the amount. Our aim is a refreshed result that still looks like you. Individual results vary.

Are dermal fillers reversible and safe?

Hyaluronic acid fillers have a strong safety record when placed by a trained clinician, and one of their advantages is that they can be dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase if an adjustment is ever needed. The most common effects are temporary swelling, redness, or bruising at the injection site. We review your history at consultation to confirm filler is appropriate for you.

What is the difference between fillers and Botox?

They solve different problems and often work together. Dermal fillers add volume and refine contour, bringing back fullness to lips, cheeks, and folds. Botox and Xeomin relax the muscles that create movement lines on the forehead and around the eyes. Many patients combine the two for a balanced result. At consultation we map which approach, or which combination of the two, best fits your goals and your anatomy.
